"We went to a workshop in Room 6 with Mr Meadows. Then we talked about a man called Black Panther. After that we talked about Jean-Michel Basquiat. We watched a video about his art. He was born in 1960 and died in 1988 because of drugs. He drew like children in pre-school. We had to draw like pre-schoolers too and we had to use our opposite hand that we right with. On acetate we drew one of Jean-Michel's painting using vivid pen. We put the acetate on a blank piece of paper. Then we had to colour in the blank paper and use the acetate as a guideline. We used vibrant colours. Underneath we had to write one of Jean-Michel's quotes with our opposite hand. We used twink to fill in some spaces on the acetate. It was fun drawing with our opposite hand and we felt like little kids again!"
Here are some student reflections....
